Everyone knows me so well ...

Merry Christmas everyone! I hope you enjoyed Christmas as much as I did! I spent it this year with my family, boyfriend and dogs. We had an amazing feast, then opened presents around the Christmas tree!
The above is some of the presents that I received! I told everybody that I had enough yarn this year, so I guess it forced everybody to think about what else a knitter would want. So, now I have my very first knitting magazine, and a knitting calendar with over a hundred patterns on every date. I also got knitting accessories which are always welcome, as its so easy to lose stitch markers here and there (or have your dog completely tear apart your stitch counter). I'm hoping to use all of these presents very soon!

Monday 22 December 2014

And that wraps it up!

I never like to throw away my leftover yarn, even if there's only a little bit left. I searched up what to do with my scrap yarn, and one of the ideas was to use it for gift wrapping. All of these ideas are just found under google images if you type in 'wrap presents with yarn' or some other variation of that. I'm definitely not creative enough to come up with these beautiful ideas on my own! Now that its Christmas, its the perfect chance to wrap all my presents with my leftovers! I got rid of two little balls, and made my presents stand out from all the other presents under the tree! I also saved on wrapping paper by just cutting up some old paper bags.

First up, is the present to my uncle! I got several strands of one color and basically just braided them together with strands of two other colors. It makes a nice cord, and looks very colorful and neat tied up in a bow atop the wrapped gift.

Next, is my aunt's present! It's the first time I made a pompom with two colors, and I think it turned out pretty cute, despite both yarns being of different weight which I was a little worried about at first. The pompom is about the same size as the present itself (which to help give you an idea, is about the size of a stack of scratch and win lottery tickets..)!

I found this amazing looking old Santa Christmas bag to wrap my boyfriend's present in. I wrapped it around with some yarn, then embellished it with a store bought ribbon and a handmade tassel. I think the whole package looks a little too busy, but I guess it serves as a clue that what's inside is going to be just as exciting!

My sisters and I chipped in for my mom and dad's gift. My sister already beautifully wrapped up my dad's gift, and so I tried my best to wrap up my mom's (pictured below):

Sister #1's present is just a series of mini pompoms tied around the present. I wonder how long that Gap bag has been sitting around the house. As far as I know, its been years since anybody has shopped there. I think this also shows how my family doesn't throw anything away that might be useful in the future.

Last, but not least is my second sister's gift. It's the only one wrapped up in a plastic bag. I got a little lazy with this one as I figured it'd be hard to nicely wrap up stacked presents.

Anyway, that concludes everything. Christmas is just around the corner! I hope everybody has finished buying and wrapping all their gifts. Hope Christmas didn't bankrupt anybody like it feels like it bankrupted me haha! Merry Christmas everyone!!

My creativity astounds me

I brought my knitting to work, and lo and behold, I forgot my cable needle! But I wasn't going to be defeated so easily... so, I improvised!
That's my bobbypin! Not the best thing I've ever knit with .. but hey, it works!

Merry Christmas (almost)

Christmas decorations at my family home are up!
The festivities and Christmas fuzzies have begun! I hope everybody is enjoying their Christmas preparations as much as I am. As a bonus .. does anybody recognize my knitted stocking up on the fireplace? It's in use, and blending in well with the rest of its fellow stockings :)

Here's a sneak peek by the way, of what's been keeping me busy lately!
More info on that once its all done! Enjoy the Christmas cheers!

It's a Bird, it's a Plane!

It's a hooded lace scarf!
I think it turned out super cute, and it's such a uniquely knitted project too! Saves you the trouble of bringing both a hat and a scarf out I suppose! My boyfriend keeps saying I look like a mage though, haha!

It was much simpler to knit than I originally thought too. Basically, all you do is knit a giant rectangle first, and then bind off in the middle, then keep working the ends until they reach your desired length. Pompom and fringes are optional, although I always enjoy making those, so I added them for sure.
This is how it looks before you knit the back seems to create the hood:
The lace pattern is so pretty too! Kept me pretty occupied as I began my climb onto the Doctor Who bandwagon. I only watched ten episodes though (starting at the 2005 reboot). I was never into Sci-Fi, but it kept me interested enough.

Now that I'm done, I know exactly what I'm going to do next! I've been itching to dive into my new yarn stash!

Edit: Here's my sweetie modelling for me!

Two Years of Knitting!

It's been two years of knitting, but November marks one year since when I began to actually be a knitter and not somebody who just knit one thing! It's nice to look back at all my projects!
When its all put together like this, its so much easier to see how far I've come and how I've tried really hard to learn something per project. I think the fourth project is when I really started to get better. 8 scarves, 5 hats, 3 gloves/mitts, 3 bookmarks, 3 tops, 2 pairs of socks, one stocking, one doll, one headband, and one blanket later, and I'm still knitting to improve! I hope by next year, a sweater will be added to the mix! And if I've said it once, I've said it a million times ... but I hope I'll have a better camera to show off all my proud proud creations!

Beginning of November surprise!

Yesterday was an amazing day! I went over to my friends' house for a sleepover where we engaged in post-Halloween pumpkin carving! It was really fun! We put our finished products up on Facebook and held a contest to see which teams' pumpkin got the most votes! Which one would you have voted for?
If you chose the Olaf pumpkin, then you have good taste! That's the one my team carved! Our prize was an After Eight tin full of mint chocolate! I was already feeling awesome for winning the contest since last year when my friends and I did this, my partner and I came in dead last, but when I got home, I got yet another surprise ....

Ta-dah! Look what was waiting for me in my room! It's a gift from my aunt who has been so supportive of my knitting hobby! Inside has six giant balls of Red Heart comfort yarn in beige, white and black! It was bought at such a bargain too! Only $39.00 for the whole thing! With all the yarn I recently received from my boyfriend and my friend, and now this, I feel like I have enough to keep me knitting for the next ten years!

So Much Yarn

So remember how yesterday I received my giant yarn haul? Well guess what! I got even more yarn today! My friend went to Seattle to a placed called 'So Much Yarn', and bought me a hank of yarn!
The color is beautiful! It's hard to tell with my blurry camera, but the color is actually variegated with different hues of brown! It gives a very Autumn feel. I'm not sure what type of yarn it is because my friend ripped the tag off because the pricetag was on there (although I know it is way more expensive than I usually spend on a skein of yarn so I am so grateful they would put such thought for me). It looks like its worsted weight though, and it feels super soft! I love it!!

My Long Awaited Yarn Haul

Finally, something to cheer me up from an unfulfilling work and social life... a giant bag of soft cuddly yarn! Now I can spend more time knitting and watching dramas alone! (Haha, half kidding on the dramatic parts..)
I'm definitely going to knit at least 2 sweaters out of this stash! I had a vague plan of what I was going to do with each skein, but maybe because it was too vague that I forgot the plans for the balls where I only bought one of it. But I'm sure I'll figure something out. It was my first time buying from the website 'Webs'. Previously, I used the website 'Knitpicks' or just bought from Michaels or Wal-Mart, but I wanted to try something new.

Unfortunately, there's so much yarn there, six skeins of it cannot fit in my three drawers, so now it looks messy again. I think that's a sign that I'm not knitting enough, haha, so I guess I better get to it!

A Study in Mustard Yellow

Finally, the sock section of my blog is a lot less lonely! I made it from Twisted Lizzy's Sock Pattern.
What I love about these socks is that it looks really fancy when I wear boots, but the bottom half where nobody sees is just a super comfy plain stockinette stitch. The pattern was really easy to memorize (and do), and I found socks were a lot easier to make than I remembered. I definitely want to do something much more challenging next time! Because it was pretty mindless to make, I managed to watch the entire series of Sherlock that's available right now. And, I don't know why I didn't watch it sooner, I'm in love! I used to think Benedict Cumberbatch was not very attractive, but now I think he looks kinda cute when he's acting. I keep thinking 'Hobbit' when I see Martin Freeman though, ha (I do think he's a great actor however)!

Anyway, I suppose I'll have to find a new series for my future project .. maybe I should jump on the Doctor Who bandwagon?

Updated list Part 3

It's been around six months since I've updated my knitting list of things to do, so I thought it'd be a good time to see how I've progressed in my knitting quest. Time sure flies though! I've been looking at all my old knitted finished objects and thinking about how I used to think it was so hard to make them, and had to look at endless Youtube tutorials, and endlessly frog, knit and refrog my work until it was perfect. Now, I'm confident I can make most of anything as long as I find a nice well written pattern!

So, things I can cross off my list:
1. Organize: I sort of accomplished this with the purchase of my three shelves. I mean, it could be neater, but at least they're not all thrown into several environmental bags anymore.

2. Mistake-less project: well, that cabled headband I made my sister was pretty flawless, as was that diamond headband I made for myself!

3. Vest: My beautiful red vest that I made knocks this off my to do list! The only regret that I have is that I didn't take clearer photos of it before giving it away to my aunt. Now the only way to reminisce about it is through my blurry photos..

4. Blanket: One of my most prized creation helps cross this one off! The Game of Thrones blanket.. it really turned out very well!

5. Headband: And it was finished quite recently too... twice!

So, what's still on the list?
1. Sweater: something that I've been preparing for.. just need to wait for my yarn to come!!

2. Bag: This one and the sweater have been on my list for forever, but unlike the sweater, I haven't really thought about this one very much.

3. Brioche: I want to do this, but I'm so intimidated!

4. Design my own pattern: Well, this won't be happening anytime soon .. my skill level is not even close yet!

5. Dishtowel: This one is the most likely to be accomplished next since its so easy to make, but for some reason I haven't gotten around to it yet.

I only have a few things to add to my list:
6. Steeking: I literally just heard of this, and is supposedly super daunting ... I want to try it (successfully) at least once!

7. Mittens with fingers: I've made gloves, and mitts with half fingers, but none with full fingers yet!

And.. that's it! While I'm at it, I'll give you a sneak peek at what I've been working on lately!
That's right, it's socks! Hasn't it been forever since I've made socks? And I find it much easier this time around!

Another headband!

I made another headband at the request of my sister who liked the previous headband that I made, minus the color. So, she went through my stash and picked out the yarn she'd like to make her headband in and it turned out to be a ball of the grey and black homespun yarn! At first, I was still contemplating whether I wanted to make another headband so soon, and plus, I don't like making the same pattern twice. But when I saw it could help me use up that ball of homespun yarn, I agreed to it. I didn't end up using the same pattern because I knew it wouldn't really be that visible with that type of yarn, so I just made your basic cable headband with a similar style as my original headband by adding that wrap around it. I still have an entire ball of homespun yarn left, but at least it used up all the leftovers of the second ball I had! Anyway, I hope this will keep her head warm with winter approaching!

Ugly Christmas Stocking

So, I know Halloween hasn't even passed yet, but I have lots of scrap yarn that I wanted to use up, and two of the colors happened to be red and green. Soo, I decided to knit this Christmas stocking pattern. I did end up using up two scrap colors, but it was gray and black rather than green or red .. I still have lots of scrap yarn to knit away!

Well, personally, I think the stocking itself turned out pretty ugly.
I didn't even bother making a collage for this as I think looking at it from one angle is enough. As you can see, you basically just knit one giant sock. But the way you're supposed to make the heel is so different from when I made my sweetheart socks, and personally, I think it doesn't look as good. Maybe it is made differently because it isn't meant for wearing. Whatever the case, even though its ugly, I can't wait to put it out during Christmas once Halloween passes.

Shining bright like a diamond

An ultra quick weekend knit! My first headband! (I can cross that off my list of things to do!) Its made with intertwining diamonds, but I added a seed stitch band to complete the look. It was made with some baby blue leftover yarn (but still didn't use it all, darn!)

Throwback Saturday

Look what I found amongst the renovations going on in my house!

It's that hideous ribbed scarf I made way back when! It was the second scarf I ever made if anybody recalls. It actually looks okay photographed since my camera is blurry, but its so stiff to touch annd, its got tons of holes! Like this one:
Its pretty amazing to see myself come this far though. I guess the next time I finish a project and am too hard on myself, I should look back at my old stuff and hopefully see the progress!

For a Baby!

Protip at making friends at work: knit things for them!

I have a pregnant coworker and as I've never knit baby clothes before, I decided to knit some baby accessories for her! (As well as use up a ball of scrap yarn). Here's the link!

The hat was supposed to look more like a bear, but I think it looks more monkey-like because I put the ears too low. For the mitts, the blue doesn't contrast with the gray very clearly. Moreover, related to my last post, when I was on my second mitt, I was dangerously low on yarn ... so I decided I wouldn't have enough yarn to finish the mitt and changed the pattern so I could use blue to finish the mitt. As a result, the mitts are mismatched. I think it looks pretty cute though!

I learned to do something new too! It's called the duplicate stitch, and what I used to embroider the bear paw on ne of the mitts! I almost foolishly thought there weren't any other techniques I've had to learn yet!

Wow, baby things are so small though!! I kept wondering if these can fit an actual human being! I can't wait til I have a kid of my own though! I want to knit more baby things!!

A Dangerous Game

Feeling a little nervous ... playing a game of 'will there be enough yarn to finish this project?'

Monday 6 October 2014

Joining the 23 club!

I'm back from vacation! I had a blast road tripping down to the States. I usually don't share non-knitting related things, but in case anybody is remotely interested in my life, here are some snapshots of the getaway!

We made stops at Portland, San Francisco, Malibu, and L.A, looking at all the fun touristy areas, and the beautiful scenic landscape views. We did so much more than these four pictures can convey, but these were some of my favourite photos.

When I came back after relaxing for so long, the first thing I wanted to do was pick up my needles and start knitting something! Unfortunately, my house is going under renovations right now, so all my knitting things were packed away. As a result, I finally made time for my other hobbies. What other hobbies do I have you might ask? Well for one, I like to read (I find that's a hobby most knitters also like to enjoy). I managed to finish two books, Mr. Mercedes by Stephen King, and the Alchemist by Paulo Coelho. Honestly, I can't remember the last time I finished a book, so I felt very accomplished once I was done. Too bad I'm not on board with audio books, because if there was a way where I can simultaneously read and knit, I would probably be doing that all day.

That wasn't all I did though. I started playing some games again. A new game came in the mail called Professor Layton vs. Phoenix Wright, so I picked up my Nintendo 3ds and started playing that. I also spent some time trying to beat my boyfriend in Mario Kart 8 on the Nintendo Wii, but alas, I have yet to beat him. I'm also trying to 100% FFX-2 remastered on the PS3 .. so yes, I've definitely been keeping myself busy.

Anyway, today was my birthday, and my amazing boyfriend got me a crochet case to keep my hooks in, and let me spend $100 worth of yarn on a shopping spree online!! For sure I will show you my yarn haul when that comes in the mail! You can guarantee that I am super excited for when that arrives, and I've got projects planned for each of them! As much as I love my other hobbies, they don't compare to my love for knitting. It's just so relaxing, and it can also be flexible in being really mindless, or it can really make you think. But, I guess it can't be a bad thing giving my fingers and wrists some rest!

Green and Blue

I feel so relieved! I was able to finish this project before I headed off to vacation! (Heading to Malibu!) It's called the dijon top, and I wanted to make it as soon as I first laid eyes on the pattern! It's adorable! However, it is a little short, but I think it looks cute with short shorts. A little flirty, and with a strong summer feel!
So, why is it green and blue? Well, the answer is simple ... I could tell there wasn't going to be enough blue only after knitting the back. Good thing I still had some green fingering yarn! I don't think it looks too odd with dual colors since the bottom is still the same ivory.

Here's a closer up of the feather and fan stitch that the tank is composed of!
It's so pretty even though it was easier to make than it looks. Its basically a bunch of K2Tog with YO. Anyway, I'm so glad its done, I'm going to probably bring it with me on vacation!

Knitting with Toothpicks

Good news! First of all I finally finished off the baby light brown yarn I bought waaay back then (you know, the one ball of yarn that wouldn't run out even after knitting a scarf, gloves, mitts and a bookmark?).

That's right, I incorporated it into a birthday card for one of my close friends! If you couldn't guess from the picture, their birthday is coming up soon. (Now I just have to think of a good present for her too ...)

Anyway, I made it after seeing it as part of a post on an article about what to do with your leftover yarn. For anybody wondering, its simply 1 x 1 ribbing. I think it looks adorable with the toothpicks acting as its needles. In actuality, the needles were the size US 0 ones I bought from the dollar store that I always wondered what I'd use it for. It was definitely strange using such skinny needles. It almost felt like if I pushed it a little too hard, the needles would just either snap or bend. The yarn itself is pretty light weight too, but even that felt like it was too bulky for these needles. Together it created the cutest itty bitty ribs though! But back to what I was saying before.. I'm definitely glad I got rid of one ball of leftover yarn from my stash!

Well intentioned gift, but...

As I look for a new project to do, I've been looking through my yarn stash seeing what I would be able to make. I come across this:
Its eyelash yarn, given to me last Christmas by my aunt and uncle. While I don't want to sound ungrateful, (they definitely had an idea of what I wanted if they bought me yarn) and I'm trying to be appreciative... I do want to say that I honestly have no clue what to do with this yarn. No clue at all. I tried searching it up on google too but the results I get are like 'use eyelash yarn to line a hat/bag' or 'an eyelash scarf!'. These might have been good ideas though if my yarn weren't also odd colors. Orange + dark brown + green makes me think of Halloween. Not something I really want to line a bag/ hat with (and plus I have two balls... I don't want more than one eyelash lined hat existing!), and also nobody I know, including me and my aunt and uncle, would probably be willing to wear an orange + dark brown + green eyelash scarf (which contrary to the last post, two balls of this doesn't seem to be enough to make an entire scarf anyway). So, what can I do? I don't want it sitting in my stash forever (I feel a tad guilty every time I see it there, as if it knows I don't like it or something). Perhaps I should add 'Use my eyelash yarn' to my knitting list. It'll be more impressive than knitting a sweater when I find some use for this!

P.s. In case anyone is keeping count, this is my 50th post! I'd love to do giveaways someday to thank my handful of readers for actually reading my humble little blog (maybe if my audience ever reaches the double digits heh), but the only thing I'm willing to give away from my precious, yet poorly stocked yarn collection is... you guessed it, this eyelash yarn. So ... if anybody wants it... give me a shout!

Show your Stripes

My newest project was sort of a spontaneous one. After the finish of my last project, I asked my coworker if they wanted me to make them anything since I was looking to start a new project right away (can't go one day without knitting it seems). They said they wanted a scarf, which was fine except I didn't have enough yarn of one color to make a whole scarf. So, I dug around, and finally found a pattern that she'd be happy to receive, and I'd be happy to make. I present to you... the Leftovers Cowl.

It didn't really use up a lot of my leftover yarn. The only color it completely used up was the white one. Normally, this would be a pretty boring knit for me since its basically just knit stitches while alternating colors, but it actually wasn't since it allowed me to binge watch my shows while mindlessly knitting. I got through 31 twenty minute episodes, heh!
It wasn't as if I didn't learn anything either. I learned how to do the provisional cast on stitch, as well as how to do the kitchener stitch in the round. I think I'm way better grafting now as it is actually practically invisible and not [immediately] obvious where I connected my tube together. Anyway, I'm really happy with how it turned out! I definitely want to knit more nice looking scarves. I know I should be proud of my earlier projects, but it actually does bug me that my first four scarves/ cowls were so ugly, haha. Well the only thing I can do is keep knitting more and more!

Stylish Bookmarks

This day began with the frustrating realization that one of my crochet hooks has gone missing. It especially irks me that it is missing from a set so that its absence is so noticeable. I searched high and low until I came to the unfortunate conclusion that I won't be seeing it again permanently. I think the next time I'm in Wal-Mart or Michaels though, I'll just buy myself a whole new set and donate this now incomplete one to somebody who wants it. Because I woke up to the thought of crocheting, I decided to brush up on my crocheting skills. Besides the very basics of the basics, my crochet level is no where even close to my knitting level (which makes perfect sense since I only have one project that is actually completely crocheted - and only single crocheted at that. Two projects if the border of the blanket counts I suppose).

I decided to crochet bookmarks because its quick and easy, and I can focus on one specific skill at a time. If I screw up, it isn't as big of a deal, since its only a bookmark and can be easily scrapped. Also, I have these tiny tiny little balls of yarn that I desperately want to use up. They're way too small to make anything else useful, but also too big that I can't toss them without feeling guilty. (You can see my other dog, Ellie, in this picture who is looking sad because she thought I was taking a picture of her, and she hates having her picture taken.)

Well, I learned that crocheting isn't very intuitive for me. After the finish of my bookmarks, I seriously doubt I can actually follow a written pattern. I can read it just fine, but I just can't seem to figure out how they want me to do it - which is why my bookmarks all followed video tutorials on YouTube instead. I discovered I can do all the skills it requires, but I just don't know when or how to apply them when left to my own devices with a written pattern.

The first bookmark I made was a flower:
With this, I learned how to double crochet, how to make a tassel and how to slip stitch. I'm keeping this one for myself since it was the first one made, therefore, a little more special than the other ones.

The next one I made is this intricate lacy bookmark:
I learned how to treble crochet with this project, and how to make what the robot sounding lady in the video calls a "pekoe" (like the tea? I have no idea). This bookmark is so pretty! I gifted it to my second sister, who - lets say - was a little ungrateful, haha! She kept insisting that it wasn't a real bookmark, and just a random crocheted piece. But come on, anything can be a bookmark, right? Well, I forced her to use it anyway by sticking it in her book that she's reading, ha!

Edit: I'm so dumb sometimes. It was Picot! And I learned that already during the making of my border, which I obviously forgot to do since I was following along like it was my first time ..

The third bookmark that I made was a star!
I attached the yellow lining on the outside myself just to make it look a little more colorful. I learned how to do a double half crochet with this bookmark. This one was given to my eldest sister. Oh my goodness though, the brown yarn that I made this bookmark with just does not run out. If you remember, I've made a scarf and hobo gloves with it already, and now this bookmark. Still, I have a tiny ball left. I'll have to be even more creative I suppose.

Anyway, that's it for now. After these little projects, I'm thinking of doing a long term project again. But who knows! I'll see what catches my eye next!

Sweet Bonnet

So, I've had this blog for a while now and I don't really advertise to anyone that I know that I have one. I'm not sure why, but I guess I'm just not certain how people will react when they find out that I love this stereotypically old granny craft so much that I'd have an entire blog dedicated to it. Anyway, so I took the plunge, and told some people that I've been writing one (since no one in real life is interested in discussing the finer details of my knitting projects), and one friend expressed interest in actually reading it (yes, this is totally directed at you, ha!), so , for the first time, I'm a little more self-conscious about what I'm actually writing. I definitely appreciate any readers though, and especially the couple of people that stumbled into my humble little blog somehow, and yet repeatedly decide to come back for a visit.

Onto the main topic though! After knitting the behemoth which is the GoT blanket, a quick easy project seemed like the way to go. I actually went ahead and knitted the neon ski bonnet I had previously mentioned about wanting to do. And I'm so glad I did it too!

I've already tried my hand at toques, beanies, and earflap hats, so knitting a bonnet was somewhat of a new territory. This pattern is so amazing because with the cables, and decorative wraps, the hat looks a lot more complicated than it actually was to make.

I chose it to make it out of the Icelandic wool that my sister bought for me because I thought it would keep my head extra warm during Canadian snowy weather. However, I was a little worried about using this yarn because I've read that it can be pretty scratchy and itchy. But, I figured with all my hair on my head, I wouldn't even feel it .. and I was right! Another reason that had me worried, was that because this yarn is so... wooly and fluffy, I wasn't sure if the pattern would show up as clearly as it would with regular yarn .. and it did turn out a little more fuzzy looking than the sample photos in the Ravelry link, but as you can see, not a big deal.

Anyway, interesting fact, the headband is actually knit as a tube first, to give extra warmth to your ears. Then, you just pick up the stitches alongside the band, and knit the rest of the hat. I was actually thinking at that point that the hat wasn't going to turn out well because it looked nothing like a bonnet, and I just couldn't imagine the end result being put together- which obviously I was wrong. It was good practice for cabling and doing twists! I think I'm pretty confident doing those skills consistently now!

Also, it was my first time making a pompom! That was another reason why I chose to make this pattern, because I've never made one before, and I love the challenge of trying something new (I sure wish this interest extended to activities outside of knitting). Thanks to the power of Youtube, I learned how! Basically, making one involves having to use some cardboard discs, so I had to make my own. I just found an old tissue paper box with a pretty purple flower pattern and used that. It was really fast to make, and can be put aside for future pompom making endeavors!

The first pompom I made was so ugly and small and warped though- a total failure. The strands even come out if you use the least bit of strength at pulling one. So, I had to make another one, which turned out pretty perfect (and thankfully so too, since it takes quite a bit of yarn to make, so it was a good thing I had a lot of yarn left over.
Left: failed ugly pompom Right: Awesome successful pompom
Overall, a lot of fun to make, and since it was a relatively small project, it allowed me to do something during these ridiculously long breaks I sometimes have at work! I'll end with a gratuitous picture of my dog, Yuna, looking too cute in the bonnet.
